How Do I Prepare for a Thai Massage?

Call ahead and speak with a practitioner to make sure Thai massage is the best option for you. Once you’ve scheduled an appointment, arrive a littler early to fill out any necessary paperwork. Wear loose, comfortable clothing. Nothing too tight, baggy, or slippery.

Access to the skin might be needed for some treatments, if so, appropriate draping will be used.

Know that it’ll be done on a comfortable padded mat on the floor, blankets and pillows are used for positioning and comfort.

Keep in mind that herbal compresses, balms, and liniments may be used that could possibly stain clothing.  When you come to your appointment, be sure to wear loose fitting clothing or bring clothing you can change in to. If you must eat before your appointment make sure it is a light meal.
